In September 2019, DSY and Xi'an Petroleum University signed a technical cooperation agreement on Research and Processing of Plant Cellulose-Polysaccharide Products for Drilling Fluids, and carried out cooperation in the research and development, industrial producing and application of High Temperature Resistant Modified Plant Cellulose-Polysaccharide PCPS for drilling fluids.
The project uses natural materials such as cellulose, plant monophenols, plant polyphenols and plant gum as main raw materials, and through deep modification and special processing, a "Triple Protecting" (protecting the environment, reservoirs and oil and gas quality) drilling fluid additive-- High Temperature Resistant Modified Plant Cellulose-Polysaccharide PCPS is obtained. PCPS breaks through the temperature resistance limit of natural polysaccharides and its temperature resistance is above 150℃(302℉). PCPS has excellent comprehensive functions such as filtration reduction, lubrication and anti-collapse, and also has a good compatibility with other drilling additives. The drilling fluid systems prepared with PCPS as the main additives have stable per formance, concise formulation and easy to maintenance.
At present, the project is in progress in an orderly way. And PCPS will be put into the market in the near future, providing a high quality and more efficient "Triple Protecting" drilling fluid additive for oil and gas exploration.
